Riley County Grade School PTO Playground Enhancement Fund

All big dreams need a soft place to land!  That’s why the Riley County Grade School Parent-Teacher Organization is continuing to raise funds to resurface the playground and replace the existing gravel with a Pour-in-Place Safety Surface. We recognize that many families have concerns with the safety and wear-and-tear (on shoes, flooring, and laundry machines) that occur with the current surface and we want to help address these concerns, while also offering a playground that serves the community for years to come!  

This is a large-scale and costly project, but we are pleased to announce that after multiple years of fundraising and being awarded a matching grant from the KDHE Waste Tire Grant, 2026 is the year that this project will become a reality!  We currently have a deficit between the amount we’ve secured, and the amount needed to fully fund the project and are hopeful that area families and businesses will help us “cover some ground” and close the gap.  All donations will have an immediate impact as the project is scheduled to commence during the Fall 2026 semester.

Join us as we help improve the playground from the ground up.  Our funding finish line is within reach, and we cannot wait to give our area kids a safe place to land by ‘pouring’ it forward!

Profile

The purpose of our organization is to enhance and support the educational experience at Riley County Grade School.  Each year, PTO serves RCGS by sponsoring field trips, purchasing equipment and supplies, coordinating Scholastic Book Fairs, planning a school carnival/fun run event, hosting AR Stores, celebrating the staff during Staff Appreciation Week, and planning special celebrations and morale boosters for the students!
